Hans Jacob Wohlfarth was born in Leipzig in 1998 and received classical trumpet lessons from the age of seven to fourteen. Afterwards, he reoriented himself toward jazz, which he further consolidated through music studies with Malte Burba, Till Brönner, and Sebastian Studnitzky in 2019.

From 2026 until presumably 2028, he will study for a Master's degree in Trumpet and Pedagogy in Basel.

As a member of the German National Youth Jazz Orchestra (Bundesjazzorchester) and various State Youth Jazz Orchestras, he was able to gain a great deal of experience in the field of big band music, for example through a project with the WDR Big Band.

Through these ensembles and his own combos, he was able to perform in Ecuador, Sweden, and many other countries in Europe. He was also a member of the French Orchestre National de Jazz des Jeunes.

Teaching was also part of his activities alongside his studies, and he has now been able to gain several years of teaching experience.
