Benjamin Greim was born in 1998 in Hof and began gaining his first musical experiences at the age of eight with the drums and piano. At the age of 16, he finally discovered his passion for the trumpet.

He gained his first experience playing in ensembles and bands during his many years as a member of the Big Band at the Jean-Paul-Gymnasium in Hof (2008–2016). His musical training was further enhanced by classical piano lessons (2014–2016) as well as jazz theory lessons with saxophonist Slawek Dudar (2020–2021). In addition, he played bass trombone in the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Hof (2018–2022) and participated in workshops with renowned trumpet players such as Jon Faddis and Randy Brecker.

After completing a degree in mechanical engineering, he began studying music in 2021 at the Carl Maria von Weber College of Music in Dresden. There, he is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Music (Jazz/Rock/Pop), majoring in jazz trumpet under the guidance of distinguished instructors such as Prof. Till Brönner, Prof. Malte Burba, and Sebastian Studnitzky.

Since 2022, Benjamin Greim has been the musical director of the Big-O-Band, a jazz orchestra from Upper Franconia. He has since performed regularly with various big bands and ensemble formations, including the Youth Jazz Orchestra of Saxony, the Dresden Big Band, the Werkstatt Bigband Dresden under the direction of Sebastian Haas, and the hfmdd jazz orchestra led by Prof. Simon Harrer. In these groups, he is active as a bass and tenor trombonist, soloist, or lead trumpeter.

Benjamin Greim also regularly performs in smaller formations such as duos or jazz quintets. Since 2022, he has been working as a trumpet and trombone teacher. In 2025, he will acquire the official teaching license as a Burba®Brass instructor.
