After studying the trumpet at the State Academy of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart, Harald Kuhn spent several years in Monterrey, Mexico, where he was in great demand as a soloist in various ensembles. He also worked on a number of studio productions and taught the trumpet at Nuevo Leon State University. After returning to Germany, Harald Kuhn settled in Munich and has since played with many well-known jazz musicians from Germany and abroad.
In 2009, he took part in the final of the Yamaha Trumpet Contest in Hamburg.
In 2013, he travelled through Colombia on a concert tour with the Nicolas Delgado Quartet, where he played at venues such as the international festivals Jazz al Parque in Bogotá and Barranquijazz in Barranquilla.
Harald Kuhn is teaching the trumpet, euphonium and trombone at the Simon Mayr State School of Music in Ingolstadt and at the vocational training college for jazz, rock and pop (Neue Jazzschool) in Munich.
